The one where I styled the Hugh & Crye section of the Ready Set DC Fashion District runway show… and awkwardly modeled in it too.
About a week and a half ago, Pranav and Phil from Hugh & Crye asked me if I would be interested in styling their portion of the Fashion District runway show put on by Ready Set DC over in the Eastern Market. The catch: I only had a week to put it all together and during that week I was going to be in Tampa for 3 days for work so things had to come together really fast. Needless to say I took the opportunity and had a blast doing it. All the models are in Hugh & Crye shirts and though you can’t see it in these pics, they all fit well. No blousing, collar gaps, or permanent sleeve rolls. If this was an editorial spread, most of the garments would be listed as “stylist’s own”, though I was able to pull the Stussy camo patch pocket chinos that I’m wearing from Stussy/C’monwealth DC Chapter (shoutout to the homie Adrian). DC FASHUNZ were definitely in the building, but I tried to hold it down for the #menswear set. Are these ground breaking F/W #menswear looks? No. But if someone wants to give me more time and the racks beholden to me, I can definitely cook up some thangs. There will be video of this coming soon as well. Big ups to Paul and James for agreeing to model (and for Paul having the dub monks needed to complete his blog-tastic ensemble).
The biggest of shoutouts to Dustin for taking the photos you see. You can check out more of DC FASHUNZ as well as other events he has shot at his site dwhitphoto.com.
